Upcycled Round Spool Coffee Table.

I was able to salvage a few of these heavy duty spools to make in to nice round coffee tables. They are very heavy, mainly featuring Vietnamese Ironwood. They originally held 1750 feet of aircraft cable, weighing almost 2000lbs!

After disassembly, I reset the nails- planed and then sanded and sanded and sanded :) to give it a smooth finish. It's stained a dark walnut color and the finish is a hand rubbed Danish oil. The hardware is fire-blackened and I fabricated the hairpin legs using reclaimed rebar from my local metal recycling center. Shout out to Noble Metals Oak Ridge, TN.

It is 34" in diameter and 19" tall.

It has a 3 1/2" center hole I've left open that you can put a vase or candle into. Optionally, I can make with a colorful resin insert to fill the hole.
